Program Coordinator: Dr. Derek Tsang

Affiliated with the University of Toronto Department of Radiation Oncology, the Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) at Princess Margaret provides students with outstanding clinical and research experiences. RMP offers students a wide range of programs and technologies in a supportive, collegial multidisciplinary learning environment. Weekly academic rounds, tumour boards and case conferences provide students with a glimpse into the high-quality, evidence-based multidisciplinary treatments offered to patients at Princess Margaret.

Students are encouraged to take a hands-on approach to learning and will develop their clinical skills by seeing and assessing a wide variety of patients at various points in the cancer experience. Many RMP staff serve as research mentors for medical students taking a research course.

Students wanting an elective or ambulatory community experience or a job shadowing opportunity in radiation oncology during undergraduate medical studies should consider an elective in the Radiation Medicine Program at Princess Margaret.
