Pan-Canadian Summit on Concussion in the School Setting: Impacting youth health through a policy-driven approach

The Canadian Concussion Centre (CCC) in partnership with Parachute Canada and Healthy School, Health Communities (PHEA) will hold a one-day Summit to exchange knowledge, discuss the status of concussion policies in the school setting with stakeholders from education, health and research, and explore how to inform and harmonize best practice policies across Canada.
Canadian Guidelines on Concussion in Sport 2024
The Canadian Guideline on Concussion in Sport, 2nd edition was published in March 2024 with updated recommendations for the prevention, recognition and management of concussions. This webinar will provide an overview of key changes to recommendations and highlight resources available from Parachute and its partners for concussion policy and protocol development, training and education/awareness.

New partnership: The Canadian Concussion Centre with The Concussion Legacy Foundation Global Brain Bank
The Canadian Concussion Centre joins the Concussion Legacy Foundation Global Brain Bank to advance research on Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy in Canada. The Canadian Concussion Centre (CCC) will become the sixth member of the CLF Global Brain Bank, an international collaboration of researchers studying chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in the United States, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Qualified MAF Physician
Dr. Carmela Tartaglia is a member of the Qualified MAF Physician Network, a prestigious group of doctors selected to examine Retired NFL Football Players for the NFL Concussion Settlement Program. Dr. Tartaglia is an approved Qualified MAF Physician in the NFL Concussion Settlement Program selected to examine Retired NFL Football Players for potential Qualifying Diagnoses.

Concussion Professorship
Dr. Carmela Tartaglia was appointed as the Marion and Gerald Soloway Professor in Brain Injury and Concussion Research on July 1, 2016, the first designated concussion professorship in the world.
