Notices
- Patients coming to the hospital from home are asked to bring a bag to hold their personal belongings during their medical imaging procedure. No bags will be provided by the department. Additionally, please leave your valuables and any metal items (for example, jewellery) at home.
- No services are available on the weekend (except for outpatients with scheduled MRI appointments).
- Effective March 30, 2020 – JDMI patients at UHN will have an easier and more sustainable way to access and share their medical imaging records!
Instead of picking up a CD, a new online service – PocketHealth – now offers UHN patients access to their imaging records remotely. Patients can enroll by visiting www.pocket.health.

What We Do
The Medical Imaging Department at Toronto General Hospital is an integral member of the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (comprised of
Toronto General,
Princess Margaret, Toronto Western,
Mount Sinai Hospital and
Women's College hospitals). We have several teams of radiologists, technologists and nurses. At the Toronto General Hospital, we provide expertise in abdominal imaging and intervention, cardiac imaging, thoracic imaging and intervention, and vascular interventional radiology. Our team is comprised of radiologists, fellows and residents, technologists and nurses who provide expertise in abdominal imaging and intervention, cardiac imaging and thoracic imaging and intervention, and vascular interventional radiology
The Toronto General Hospital is also home to the University of Toronto's
Advanced Imaging and Education Centre located within the Medical Imaging Department. The centre is unique in Canada as a training facility that is dedicated to teaching physicians, fellows, residents and technologists advanced CT techniques, as well as coronary CT angiography, virtual colonography and neurovascular CT.
