On November 20, the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre (PMCC) at TGH and the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation (TG&WHF) hosted a very successful fundraising gala Toronto's Four Seasons Hotel, in honour of Dr. Tirone David, Head of Cardiovascular Surgery, PMCC. The event raised $3.3 million net for cardiovascular surgery and the highest priorities at the Centre, plus a surprise announcement of an additional $1 million to support a fellowship at PMCC.
Dr. David is one of the world's most creative, dedicated and compassionate cardiac surgeons who operates on patients whose cases are generally considered almost impossible by most surgeons.
