The Gastrointestinal Site Group, in collaboration with the University of Toronto, provides an outstanding educational program for learners at various levels, including medical students, residents and fellows in oncology, and graduate students.
With a large patient population, highly skilled staff, and access to the latest technology in subspecialized GI sites and programs, we offer fellowships in all our medical specialty disciplines. Surgical, radiation and medical oncology residents routinely rotate through our site as part of their more general oncology training.
Our site group actively organizes and participates in continuing medical education programs and discipline-based meetings, such as an innovative Radiation Oncology Liver IGRT course in partnership with the Princess Margaret Accelerated Education Program.
As part of our physician outreach activities, we have a partnership with Cancer Care Ontario, and we lead provincial Communities of Practice and Multidisciplinary Cancer Conference (MCC) initiatives. We also participate in other hospital multidisciplinary GI tumour board conferences.
