Dr. Rodin is the Director of the Cancer Experience Program, as well as the Global Institute of Psychosocial, Palliative, and End-of-Life Care (GIPPEC). He is a clinician-investigator who has published widely on the psychiatric and psychosocial aspects of cancer and other medical illnesses. Under his leadership in its development, the Department of Supportive Care has now achieved an international reputation for its academic and clinical excellence.
Meena is a results-driven healthcare leader with a track record or building strong, collaborative partnerships at the local, national, and global scale. In her current role, she provides leadership to drive strategic priorities and integrate research, education and clinical care.
Hanae is the manager of the Cancer Experience Program, where she leads all program operations, resourcing, and several key projects. Her background includes a PhD in experimental psychology and a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric rehabilitation from McMaster University.
Richa is a public health professional passionate about health equity and person-centred care, particularly in cancer. Richa holds a Master of Public Health and an Honour Bachelor of Medical Science degree from Western University. In her portfolio, Richa manages and leads the implementation of Grand Challenge projects and initiatives falling under the Navigation pillar of the SuNDAE framework. She is keen to use her professional and lived experience as a family member impacted by cancer to drive person-centred care.
Gilla Shapiro is a Psychologist and Clinician-Scientist at the University Health Network. She completed a PhD in clinical and health psychology at McGill University and a dual-degree Master of Public Administration and Master of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Hertie School of Governance. Gilla’s interests include improving mental health, understanding health behaviour, examining the social determinants of health, and promoting health equity, access, and inclusion in diverse populations. On the Cancer Experience team, Gilla is the Research lead in Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Anti-Racism for the Cancer Experience program.
Megan Wexler is a registered Social Worker and the Lead for the Care & Connect volunteers at the Princess Margaret. Megan received her undergraduate degree in Adult Development, Families and Well-being, with a minor in Child and Family Studies from the University of Guelph. She subsequently completed her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University in New York City. She also has a certificate in Palliative Care and End of Life from New York University in New York City. Megan has been a practising social worker at UHN since 2014 and has been managing the HBB program since 2015.
Miah is an experienced project coordinator with a BAH in Health Studies from Queen's University and more than three years of accumulated experience working in a health care setting. She is passionate about contributing directly to life-changing cancer support services, something personally important to her with many family members impacted by cancer. On the Cancer Experience team, Miah's portfolio consists of Ambience, Staff Wellbeing and the Magic Castle.
