Monday, Nov. 11 is Remembrance Day. It is customary on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to honour our veterans who sacrificed their lives for our country.
You are invited to participate in an in-person Remembrance Day Service taking place at 11 a.m. in seven different UHN locations.
Remembrance Day Services at UHN will be as follows:
- Toronto General Hospital — Peter Munk Building, Main Floor Lobby
- Princess Margaret Cancer Centre — Murray Street Lobby
- Toronto Western Hospital — Main Floor Auditorium
- Toronto Rehab, University Centre — 2nd Floor Auditorium
- Toronto Rehab, Bickle Centre — Auditorium
- Toronto Rehab, Lyndhurst Centre — Main Floor Lobby
- West Park Healthcare Centre — 2nd Floor Auditorium
For those unable to attend the services or at a site where a service is not being held, there will be an overhead announcement featuring the reading of In Flanders Fields and a moment of silence. That will happen at 10:30 a.m. at all sites, except for the Reactivation Care Centre, where it will occur at 11 a.m.
Although you may not be able to attend one of the services or stop what you are doing at 11 a.m. on Monday, we encourage everyone to take a minute on that day and reflect on the sacrifices made throughout our history. We honour this service to our country by remembering.
Lest we forget.
