“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead
Margaret Mead’s statement could certainly be the motto of The Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Tumour Centre’s Patient & Family Advisory Committee (PFAC). This small, committed group of volunteers meets once a month to provide advice and feedback to the staff of the Pencer Centre. They tell us what we are doing right, what we can do better and what we should consider adding to our list of programs.
As patients, survivors and caregivers, committee members bring vital expertise and perspective to the centre’s activities.
- PFAC helps develop and evaluate all the supportive care and educational materials for people with brain tumours and their families.
- The committee’s fundraising activities include the hugely successful annual
Head for a Cure 5K walk.
