The Michener Institute of Education at UHN is committed to supporting all of its learners and educators – and ultimately patients – through a vision of learning that is dynamic, collaborative and ongoing throughout one's life. Through the Continuing Education portfolio, The Michener Institute of Education at UHN strives to be a key partner in lifelong learning – building the capacity of individuals and teams to use the best knowledge in practice, in a way that adapts to changing technology, to shifting health care environments and assisting with human health resource needs in innovative ways. This means our learners are getting access to the most up-to-date tools, knowledge and training they need to work and lead effectively in teams across the health care system every day, especially in the face of the uncertainty and ambiguity of change.
The Continuing Education portfolio provides educational programs, resources and consultation services aimed at high-quality learning and education – all in service of better outcomes for patients and families. This has meant expanding the capacity, breadth and reach of lifelong learning for individuals while supporting the creation of high-functioning interprofessional work environments in learning and clinical settings. Bringing together expertise in personalized, online and team-based learning, Continuing Education has created a scope and reach spanning local, national and international audiences.
