ACCELERATION
ACCELERATION is a research project aimed at preventing chronic disease. It is designed to improve an individual's health and well-being, through diet, exercise, smoking cessation and appropriate alcohol intake.
The project consists of a 12-week education and supervised exercise program, focusing on healthy behaviour modification, motivation and exercise. Kinesiology is one of the key disciplines delivering this behavioural and lifestyle change intervention.
Toronto site lead Megan Cahill, RKin will head up the project and work with site leads across Canada to recruit at least 3,000 participants across diverse settings in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. The goal of this project is to change the way Canadians prevent chronic disease.
