One of the physiotherapists in the medical-surgical intensive care unit at Toronto General Hospital is examining whether an electrical stimulating device may be applied to muscles of patients who are very ill in the unit to prevent them from losing muscle mass and becoming very weak during their hospital stay.

A commentary was provided on the clinical relevance of a published article "The Path to Self-Management: A Qualitative Study Involving Older People with Multiple Sclerosis". TRI-UHN developed a patient program, "Life with MS" to promote the positive behaviours and attitudes necessary to manage MS.
