UHN is honoured to have once again been named one of the Top Employers in the GTA for 2011.
"We are proud to have been selected once again as one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers for 2011," says Emma Pavlov, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Development. "Our investment in our people and our workplace environment continues to distinguish us as a place where people want to work and contribute".
The award is given out annually by Mediacorp Canada, which also awards the yearly Top 100 Employers in Canada, for which UHN has consistently been selected.
For this year's award, Mediacorp cited our accomplishments in helping employees attain work-life balance through what they refer to as a "unique on-site wellness centre," which boasts two full-time staff members.
UHN's parental leave policies, which include top-up payments (varying with position), and apply to both new mothers and fathers and adoptive parents, was also cited. Also noted was UHN's vacation benefits that see all new employees start at three weeks of paid vacation and a defined benefit pension plan.
