What We Do

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a service that is designed for those who experience lung problems, such as:

  • Asthma
  • Before and after lung transplantation or Lung volume reduction surgery
  • Bronchiectasis
  • Chronic Bronchitis
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Emphysema
  • Interstitial lung disease
  • Lung cancer and lung cancer surgery
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Sarcoidosis

We work with adults with chronic lung disease to improve their ability to care for themselves. Patients learn skills to stay healthy, such as stopping smoking, exercise, coping better, proper nutrition and ways to better control of their fatigue and shortness of breath. Patients attend weekly sessions for a maximum of 3 times a week or a total of 36 sessions.

The cost of the service is covered for patients with a valid health card (OHIP card).
