Referrals

If your patient needs immediate, urgent care, please call 911 or direct your patient to proceed to the nearest Emergency Room.

For urgent referrals, you must make direct contact with the appropriate physician.

Please note: All suspected cases of testicular torsion, priapism, sepsis secondary to urinary obstruction, trauma, testicular masses and renal mass with inferior vena cava (IVC) involvement are considered urgent referrals.

Please note that only physicians may send a referral. Please fax the following to 416 946 6590 when referring your patient:

  • A letter of referral
  • CT/MRI/bone scan reports
  • Relevant clinic notes
  • Relevant lab test results

Your office is responsible for providing the patient with the appointment information, including time and location, and important documents, test results and imaging that they must bring. It is extremely important to ensure that your patient brings the following as these will be required at their first appointment.

  • All relevant CT/MRI/bone scans on CD
  • All relevant correspondence

Please note that clinic appointments may be virtual visits. The clinic team will let you know what type of appointment is appropriate for your care. Learn more about virtual visits at UHN »

What We Do

We are dedicated to the treatment of patients with bladder cancer.

Our clinic is the first of its kind in Canada. During your appointment, you will meet with a urologist specializing in bladder cancer and a radiation oncologist with expertise in bladder irradiation. Both specialists will meet with you at the same time to provide you with the most comprehensive care.

We will meet with you and your family to discuss treatments, including removing the bladder (cystectomy) or preserving the bladder using combined radiation and chemotherapy. We will provide personalized care based on your preferences and the biology of your bladder cancer.

We also see patients who have been treated with combined radiation and chemotherapy to provide close follow-up care.

Tests/Services

  • Biopsy (Bladder)
  • Cystoscopy
  • Post-void residual determination
  • Ureteroscopy
  • Uroflowmetry
