Some cancer treatments (such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy) can affect your fertility (ability to have a baby). Your fertility may be impacted temporarily or permanently. Talk to your health care team about fertility as soon as possible when planning your cancer treatment to make sure you have as many options as possible.
Fertility preservation can give you more options to have a baby after your cancer treatment. Fertility preservation can mean having gametes (eggs or sperm) or embryos frozen before you start cancer treatment.

If you have already started cancer treatment, you may still be able to preserve your fertility but you will need to be assessed to know if it is possible.
