Accelerated Education Program (AEP)
RMP also offers an
Accelerated Education Program (AEP) with the goal of expediting the mobilization and translation of knowledge into clinical practice. The AEP for Radiation Medicine at the Princess Margaret was initiated in 2005 to develop Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs to disseminate innovative research and practical knowledge, facilitated by state-of-the-art educational methodologies. Delivered in partnership with the
Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto, the AEP offers two award-winning learning methods: AEP courses and AEP Personalized Learning Programs (PLPs).
AEP Courses
The continuing education courses offered by the AEP offer unique opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills and strategies to implement the course principles into radiotherapy practice. Courses are offered in the following areas:
- Image-Guided Radiation Therapy
- Quality & Safety in Radiation Therapy
- Accelerator Technology
- Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy
AEP's Personalized Learning Program (PLP)
The AEP's Personalized Learning Program (PLP) in Radiation Medicine provides up to 12 months of intensive observation experience. Participants will benefit from an individualized, goal-oriented curriculum based on true clinical cases, plus a variety of interactive simulation-based training. A virtual observership experience is another convenient option to learn more about state-of-the-art radiation medicine. Virtual observerships are designed based on your learning needs, through distance learning and simulation experiences.
