The Ocular Oncology Service based at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre/University Health Network is a national program. We receive referrals of ophthalmic tumour patients from across Canada. The Ocular Oncology Service is the sole eye tumour referral centre in the province of Ontario.
Our program provides diagnosis, imaging, treatment, and rehabilitation for ocular and periocular tumour patients in one centre. As well, we manage ocular involvement in systemic cancers.
The service delivers current treatment modalities in ocular oncology including, surgical intervention, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy within UHN.
Our service manages tumours involving different ophthalmic structures:
- Eyelids and periocular skin tumours
- Ocular surface tumours
- Orbital and other ocular adnexal tumours
- Intraocular Tumours
As a member of the University Health Network, the program is linked to the ophthalmology program at Toronto Western Hospital. The program has affiliation with the Hospital for Sick Children and St. Michael's Hospital. Ocular and periocular tumours are managed in a multidisciplinary setting that provides a customized multistep treatment plan for each patient.
