Our study of unique and innovative treatment approaches has helped set the standard of care in central nervous system oncology. As the largest central nervous system treatment centre in Canada, we are also able to conduct cutting-edge clinical trials for specific brain tumours (for example glioblastoma, brain metastases) and in parallel investigate advances in the treatment of uncommon tumour types because we have enough patients to support such trials.

Members of our neurosurgical and neuropathology staff perform basic research in the laboratory through the MacFeeters-Hamilton Neuro-Oncology Laboratory.

Current studies include the investigation of the regulatory mechanisms underlying central nervous system tumours and exploration of the mechanisms involved in angiogenesis associated with these tumours, as well as genome-driven molecular diagnostic precision oncology.
