The UHN Women's Health Program seeks to promote excellence and foster innovation in research, education and clinical care in women's health. The program embraces gender diversity and the term "women" includes all people who identify as such.
Our vision is to improve the health of women by driving research, education and clinical care in key areas to address unmet care needs in women across the lifespan. Our initiatives focus on
- research addressing sex- and gender-based disparities in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and in the structures and processes of healthcare
- optimal clinical care for women; and
- educating future generations of health professionals.
Our program is multidisciplinary and seeks to address unmet care needs related to sex and gender across all medical conditions. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate disparities based on sex and gender and improve health for people of all genders in Canada and worldwide.
