Observers will adhere to all applicable UHN restrictions and Public Health restrictions in place at the time of their Observership. Due to the fluctuating nature of the pandemic, restrictions on in-person activities, meetings, and gatherings will be adjusted based on community and hospital COVID-19 activity. UHN cares for numerous vulnerable patient populations and healthcare human resources may be stretched to meet clinical demands. Therefore, caution must be exercised. Decisions concerning Observerships are based on UHN policy.
All best endeavors will be made to present your observership as represented on the website. The University Health Network and its agents reserve the right to alter without prior notice, any of the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items relating to the observership, for any cause beyond its reasonable control. The University Health Network, Observerships Office and Conference Services are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the University Health Network, Observerships Office and Conference Services do not accept responsibility for loss of monies caused by delays or cancellation. The University Health Network, Observerships Office and Conference Services do not cover individuals against cancellations of bookings of flights and accommodations.
In-person observers: please monitor your own health status and do not attend if you are symptomatic in any way. Vaccinations are required at all University Health Network sties. Observers must be prepared to show proof of vaccination when asked at the entrance and wear a mask at all times.

Observerships provide an invaluable learning experience for individuals who have a passion for health care. UHN is committed to fostering an environment for academic learning and sharing knowledge. We are proud to welcome observers from around the world.
The UHN Observerships Program allows health care professionals and students to observe examinations and other procedures performed by UHN staff physicians, surgeons, nurses, and health professionals. The Observerships Program welcomes approximately 1,550 observers per year.
