Our Vision: A Healthier World
Our Purpose: Transforming lives and communities through excellence in care, discovery and learning.
UHN is Canada's No. 1 hospital and the world's No. 1 publicly funded hospital. With 10 sites and more than 20,000 members of TeamUHN, UHN consists of Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, The Michener Institute of Education at UHN and West Park Healthcare Centre. As Canada's top research hospital, the scope of research and complexity of cases at UHN have made it a national and international source for discovery, education and patient care.
Governance – UHN is governed by a voluntary, elected
Board of Trustees, of which two members are appointed by the
University of Toronto.
Funding – Primary funding for UHN comes from the Ontario Ministry of Health. Other funding sources include patient services, grants and donations from individuals and corporations. Our three foundations –
UHN Foundation,
The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and
West Park Foundation – are critical partners helping us recruit world-leading talent, advance critical research and innovation projects, see capital projects to completion, acquire cutting-edge technology and, ultimately, change the status quo of health care.
University Health Network is a research hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto.
